Pink Balloons | Milwaukee Newborn, Maternity, Family Photographer

I have a confession to make....I was really nervous for this shoot. I was hired to capture a moment in time that could never be recreated, and I worried I would miss it somehow. You see, this couple was finding out the gender of their baby in front of family and friends...if pink balloons came out of the box it was a girl and of course blue for a boy. Big moment.

As it turns out, I did not miss it :) Phew!

JJ is, to put it mildly, insanely beautiful. I had so much fun looking at his cute little mug this past week! Plus he gave me just the right mix of smiles, laughs and curious stares into the camera which made for one of my favorite sessions to date! Enjoy :)

Lauryn, as you will see below, should be a little baby model. Those eyes and cheeks are so so adorable! Plus she was super smiley so that was just icing on the cake. Her mom and dad were lots of fun to work with too. I have known her mom for many years so it was fun to just kind of goof around for an hour :)

This guy was such a joy to photograph! I am a total sucker for blue eyes for starters, plus he was just a happy little guy the whole time! To top it off his parents brought some awesome outfits for him that just added to the cuteness. Great job guys! :)

Nick here was a really good sport. I could be wrong, but I don't think a lot of 17 year old guys are terribly excited about doing a photo shoot. Despite that, he did a really great job of just rolling with it! Eventually, though, I took one picture too many and he was "done." It made for one of my favorite shots of the day :)

These two kids are some of my favorites. I've known both of them since the day they were born and it was so fun to get them in front of my camera. I see them all the time, but seeing them this way made me really step back and realize how OLD they are getting!! Okay so they are still only 7 and 5, but still....they're like big kids now! Adorable as ever, though :)

Lily | 5 Years | Milwaukee Newborn, Family Photographer

When we bought our house almost four years ago, there was one room that we didn't really know what to do with. It has wood flooring, leaded glass windows, built in shelves, french doors and a separate entrance from the outside. It's always been our favorite room in the house, but we never really turned it into a usable space because we didn't know exactly what we wanted to do with it. It turns out that our indecision has served us quite well in this case! It's now my home studio and it couldn't be more perfect.

Over the past few months I've accumulated the necessary equipment to transform this into a studio that not only serves newborns well, but will also allow me to take children's photos all year long and in all kinds of weather! Don't get me wrong - I will always love outdoor photos with nature as the backdrop, but it's nice to be able to provide options :)

Little Miss Lily here helped me get the ball rolling just in time for her 5th birthday later this week. Is she not the most beautiful little girl??
