Milwaukee Newborn Photographer - Editing
Ever wonder what a photographer really means when they talk about editing a photo? I'm going to show you here! I'll admit it's a little scary to put something out there that is not edited at all, but I think it's a great way to show what all goes into making your final product.
I thought I would share with you three photos....the first one is straight out of the camera, and the next two are edited in slightly different ways. To get from the first image to the last, I worked a bit on skin tones, crop, exposure, the blanket and the overall color of the image.
The last version speaks to me and and represents my style the best!

Milwaukee Newborn Baby Photographer
It's been quite a December with lots of baby boys born this month! This is your PSA to try to schedule your newborn photography session early in your pregnancy because it seems like if there is one baby born, there's a few more not far behind! :) I want to be prepared for your little one so give me a shout when you find out you're preggers!
Okay, you can tell your husband first :)

Charlie | 6 Months | Milwaukee Baby Photographer
I follow a lot of other photographers on facebook and so many always say they are behind on blogging. I didn't really understood what that meant...how hard is it to keep up with a blog? It doesn't take THAT much time, does it?
Well, I understand it now. Those same photographers referred to Fall as the "busy season" and they weren't kidding! I've been very busy doing what photographers do, but today I'm going to take a few minutes to get the blog ball rolling again.
It restarts with Charlie.
Charlie is the reason I have a photography blog at all. Honestly. While in utero his mommas asked me to take his newborn pictures. I took the request very seriously and researched as much as I could about how to do it right. I was NOT going to screw it up. I had been loving photographing my own kids, but up until then I had never really photographed anyone else's. So anyway, it well well and I loved every second of it.....from planning the shoot to finishing the photos and sending them off. There was no way that was going to be a one time thing!
Luckily, it was not a one time thing and many, many photo shoots later I got to see Charlie all grown up again as a big 6 month old. That is kind of a lie since I see him all the time, but still, this time it was from behind my lens so it was different :)

Mercado Boys | Milwaukee Family Photographer
Want to know something funny about this session? It took place right in the middle of the Packer game. Go figure! Since they are nice people, though, they didn't just cancel on me when they found out! They still came and had fun and made darn sure they were going to make their time away from the game worth it :)
All around this was such a fun session. I love watching kids interact with each other and play with their parents....it never gets old to me and these guys delivered!

Emerson | One! | Milwaukee Newborn, Family Photographers
My most favorite thing about this session was the fact that this little guy's facial expressions haven't changed a bit since our last session! See for yourself...the first one was taken earlier this summer and the others were taken this past month. Cute, cute, cute.
I think it's adorable that he has a look that is all his own, especially since it accentuates his little dimples. Love it.
We didn't have much sun and got sprinkled on a bit during this session and Emerson's pants were getting destroyed from crawling around in the grass, but his mom and dad were super chill about all of it. We all let Emerson run the show - the best (and only?) way to photograph a one year old if you ask me :) I also had to include a few of his big sister because she is tooooo beautiful not to share if you ask me!

Loucks Family | Milwaukee Newborn, Family Photographer
I kind of want to share every image from this entire session, but I'm going to restrain myself and just show just a portion :) These parents made my job soooo easy and I don't even know if they realized they were doing it or not. I had to wonder if they were secret photographers or something because they did exactly everything I wanted them to do, usually before I got around to asking. Above all they just played with their kids a ton which makes for really fun, happy photos....enjoy!
